KG is getting his picks in a little bit early this week. Did pretty well last week. 10-6 again. Moved my record up to 27-21 for the season. Now the bye weeks begin, let's hope my percentages improve. Bring the noise!
Denver @ Tennessee: Well, my Broncos definitely put up far more of a fight against Indy than I expected last week. But the team can't run the ball, and can't score touchdowns when the get inside the 20. Tennessee still has the game's best running back, and Vince Young has shown pretty good poise. He's still pretty much managing a game, but if you have a 2000 yard back, why not give it to him for 33 our of your 49 plays? Tennessee beats down the Broncos, though Orton probably throws for another 300 plus.
San Francisco @ Atlanta: What is up with San Fran? People, including myself, expected them to move forward and take the division this year. I thought Mike Singletary might end up being the coach of the year this year, but so much for that! Atlanta had a great game against the defending champs. They keep going against a reeling Niners team. Give me the dirty birds.
NY Jets @ Buffalo: Buffalo put up 30 on New England last week, but they won't get anywhere near that against a very good Jets team. Jets in a runaway.
Baltimore @ Pittsburgh: Baltimore has finally found their offense, but they have definitely had a case of the forget how to scores. Not a good thing to have against an amazingly good Steelers D. I believe that the Steelers will win this one by about 10, which is a lot for these 2 teams.
Carolina @ New Orleans: Carolina stinks, and New Orleans needs this type of game to remember how to be the supremely dominant group that won the super bowl and averaged over 30 points a game. Panthers will help them out with that one. Give the the Saints.
Cincinnati @ Cleveland: Browns did better against the Ravens, but they still stink. Bengals will win this one without too much of an issue.
Detroit @ Green Bay: Detroit is so close to being a halfway decent team, but Green Bay is going to be wanting to redeem themselves after basically giving the Bears a Monday night game. Packers will win this one pretty handily. Rodgers will throw for a couple and probably run for another TD.
Seattle @ St. Louis: Seattle is a surprising 2-1, but still pretty mediocre. Nobody is really expecting the Rams to do much better than they did last year, and they already got their 1 win. This actually could be a pretty decent game. Seahawks are riding high after beating the Chargers, and St. Louis is believing after beating a Skins team that people are expecting a lot from. Bradford has performed admirably well as a rookie. This is kinda tough to choose a winner, but the Rams have been my bugaboo team. I choose them, they lose, choose against them, they win. Been that way the last 2 weeks. Well, I'll take the Rams again this time.
Indianapolis @ Jacksonville: Jacksonville traditionally plays Indy pretty tough, but haven't really ever gotten over the top against them. Won't change this time either. Colts.
Houston @ Oakland: Houston needs to get back to winning and fast. Lucky for them, they get the Oakland Raiders! Raiders still stink. Give me the Texans.
Arizona @ San Diego: San Diego is back to their September of crapiness, but they are still usually pretty good at home. Arizona is very inconsistent right now. I hate Phillip Rivers, but they'll take this one.
Washington @ Philadelphia: Will the Philly fans boo McNabb? Of course they will. They booed Santa, and pelted him with snowballs!!! Why wouldn't they boo the guy that pretty much turned their franchise into a perennial competitor? Vick has been playing well, though I still am not very happy he is still playing but that's a personal thing, and the Eagles should take this one.
Chicago @ NY Giants: Bears are probably the worst undefeated team remaining. Cutler is still a turnover waiting to happen, and the defense is still pretty much entirely dependent on the health of Brian Urlacher. That being said, the G-men are in complete disarray. They keep beating themselves with tons of stupid penalties, and silly left handed throws to the other team from the 5 yard line. Bears stay undefeated, but I still don't count on them winning their division.
New England @ Miami: This will definitely be the game of the week. The Fins played the Jets very tough this last week, and pushed that defense. Marshall and Henne are starting to click, and I think that this spells lots of trouble for an aging, slower Pats defense that has trouble on the road. I'll take the fins!

KG's Week 3 picks
Well, I improved last week, going 10-6. Hopefully I will continue to take down the A-Mac Attack. Lots of good matchups this week, so here we go!
Indianapolis @ Denver: Broncos will be playing emotionally with the loss of their teammate. Moreno is out, and the Broncos D always seems to have questions. Peyton Manning always has a field day against the Broncos. I love my Broncos, but there is pretty much one way that they beat the Colts, and it's if Peyton Manning mysteriously disappears before the game. Colts win, in a big way. And people will immediately call for Tebow because they are foolish.
Cincinnati @ Carolina: Man, Carolina does not look good. And Cinci had a great game and win against Baltimore last week. They don't stop rolling here. Bengals take this.
Buffalo @ New England: Well, I can already hear the stories after this one. People love to talk about how the Pats are back after they beat a team that stinks. This will be no different. Pats win, but let's all remember who they're going to beat.

Cleveland @ Baltimore: Poor Cleveland. They're going to get hammered in this one. Baltimore's defense may score as many points as the offense. This will be ugly, in a Ravens win.
Pittsburgh @ Tampa Bay: Steelers D is playing out of their mind, and they won't be intimidated by a surprising Tampa team. Steelers.

Detroit @ Minnesota: If there is a team that is vulnerable right now, it is the Vikings. The Lions are so close to respectability but just can't figure out how to win!! I think that they've got the balance now, and the Vikes are definitely reeling. I'm going to go along with A-Mac here, and I'll take the Lions in a close one.

Week 3 NFL Picks
I haven't done so well in the last few weeks on picks. I am thinking a trained monkey could do better but here they are.
49ers@Chiefs- This is the make it or break it week for the 49ers and this is the week the Chiefs can prove they can hang in the AFC West. I think the Chiefs are for real and the 49ers suck unless they get a real QB. I hear Jeff Garcia is floating around in the UFL.
Browns@Ravens- Bring your bags, Cleveland fans. Ravens win this one with Flacco throwing 2 TDs. On an interesting note, Cleveland fans have donated a bunch of Lebron jerseys to homeless shelters in Miami.
Cowboys@Texans- See ya Wade Phillips, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Jerry Jones gave poor Wade the dreaded vote of confidence this week. Texans win this one by at least 2 TDs. Dallas is just falling apart worse than Michael Jackson's last nose.
Lions@Vikings- Holy Relevance, Batman! The Lions could put a nail in Brett Favre's retirement party. Lions will win this game in a close squeaker. Watch All Pro Rookie Suh squish Brett twice.
Bills@Pats- Don't bet against Bill Bellichek and Tom Brady at home. Does it even matter? Bills fans might be more depressed than Browns fans right now.
Falcons@Saints- Close game but i think the Super Bowl Champions win this one on grit and a few Matt Ryan turnovers.
Titans@Giants- Two teams who want to be playoff contenders but are more pretenders. Vince Young was benched again last week and the Giants have had player vs coach issues again. I still think Eli wins this one in a close game, 24-21.
Steelers@Bucs- Another surprise game here. Both teams are 2-0 and the Steel Curtain 2.0 has not needed She Said No. Charlie Batch starts this game for the Steelers and Josh Freeman looks like a decent Qb for the Bucs. Expect this game to be a grinding, defensive game if the Steelers can control the pace. Steelers head home with a 3-0 record and a good chance of playoff hope with the return of She Said No in two weeks.
Bengals@Panthers- The Cats face off here. The Panthers should be better then they are but they need to settle the QB position. Lets hope former Irish QB Claussen is the answer. I think the Bengals win after both heads of the T Ochocinco monster score touchdowns. Look for a good matchup though between TE Jermaine Gresham and the Panthers LB core.
Eagles@Jags- Mike Vick runs over the Jags in this game and Andy Reid helps the Mike Vick redemption train along. Yes he is a former felon, but he has been nothing but humble and grateful this time around. Look I will jump on him if he steps out of line, but why ruin a good story now. Vick or Welker could be the comeback players of the year, but its only Week 3.
Redskins@Rams- Maybe Shanahan finally gets control of his team here and wins another game. Its a pretty easy gimme game what with Bradford still being a rookie and all.

Jets@Dolphins- Fins win as the Jets are still on a hangover from the Sex Scandal, the Braylon Edwards DUI and their victory over the Pats last week. The AFC East is a 3 team race all season long.
Packers@Bears- Not even close. Rodgers continues his push to MVP and the erasing of Brett Favre from the collective Wisconsin memory. Jay Cutler gets sacked at least 3 times this week and throws one INT.

A-Mac's Week 2 Picks
Mediocrity is the name of the game out here in Sin Bin land. We both went 7-9 in our picks last week. Yuck! We are the Denver Broncos of prognosticators.
Seattle @ Denver: This game should have been an easy win for the Broncos if the Seahawks had been who we thought they were. They aren't. Seahawks beat Denver in Invesco with a solid running game.
Pittsburgh @ Tennessee: Game 2 of She Said No's suspension. Dixon had a decent game for a replacement last week but the Defense helped out. Mr. Hair is playing up to par again. I still don't think they can stop CJ from running all over the place. Titans win a close game after a few mistakes from Dixon.
Baltimore @ Cincinnati: Carson Palmer has as many weapons as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. He needs to show that he can be that All-Pro player he was. The Twin Headaches haven't been too bad but I still think Baltimore wins this game pretty handly with some nice Defense. Plus Cinci's D ruined a fantasy win for me last week so I am being spiteful.
Philadelphia @ Detroit: Ron Mexico takes over for the reigns for the Igles. If you don't know the reason behind Vick's nickname as Ron Mexico, Google instant will provide the Manna. He had a decent game last week taking over from concussed Kevin Kolb(it sounds alliterative). Matthew Stafford is out for at least this game with a shoulder injury. Megatron rocks and Jahvid Best had a decent game last week. That being said the Igles still win.
Arizona @ Atlanta: Dirty Birds are pissed they lost last week. Matt Ryan needs to step up his game. Derek Anderson does not put the fear of God into the Falcons D so I imagine it will be a fun game for them. Take the ATL.
Miami @ Minnesota: Classic game here. Favre is back in the Dome. The crowd will drown out Chad Henne's snap counts. Jared Allen will be focusing on Ronnie Brown and Rickey. Vikings D will force at least one INT this week. Favre has a bounce back game but will still miss Sidney Rice. Here is a fun fact, Viansthe Siancoe has the third most receiving touchdowns since 2008.
Kansas City @ Cleveland: The Lebron curse continues. Poor Cleveland. Kansas City starts the season 2-0. Little Patriots will look good against the Browns crappy Defense.
Tampa Bay @ Carolina: Carolina and Tampa Bay are unfortunately worlds behind the Falcons and Saints in talent. Both are starting young Qbs. That being said Steve Smith and the two headed RB monster will rule the day for the Panthers.
Buffalo @ Green Bay: Cheeseheads are cheering everywhere as they might win the division this year. Aaron Rodgers will kick some ass. CJ Spiller is a dud for the Bills so far. Expect a blowout.

St. Louis @ Oakland: Da Raiders nation can cheer as they win their first game with Jason Campbell at the helm. Bradford has to throw into Oakland's best attribute, the secondary. if the Raiders can stop the run, Raiders will have a nice game. That being said, its still a toilet bowl game.
Jacksonville @ San Diego: The Bolts will win this week against a Jags team who albeit good, aren't quite great yet. Garrad impressed be last week though. Rivers needs some motivation to get better.
New England @ NY Jets: Pats win because Revis Island isn't quite ready to be washed up on yet. The Pats are playing like they have a chip on their shoulder. White Wes Welker will have a good game. I just hope the Randy Ratio shows up to play and doesn't have another press conference meltdown.
Houston @ Washington: This is a Master v Mentor game as Kubiak was Shanahan's assistant in Denver. I still think the Texans win this one because Shan still can't figure out what to do with the whole Haynesworth distraction. Arian Foster makes Texas fans forget Steve Slaton. Plus Mario Williams is laughing all the way home now that he was the right pick at number 1 over Reggie Paid to Play College Football Bush

New Orleans @ San Francisco: I guess Alex Smith realized he was Alex Smith. I smell collective depression in the Bay Area as neither team(Oakland,SF) will be good this season. I picked the Niners to win their division but they need a better QB. The Saints will absolutely take it to the Niners. Brees will put up 400 yards and 4 tds.
KG's Week 2 Picks
Rough opening week. 7-9. It's all good though, once we figure out who these teams really are, we'll get rolling again. A-Mac didn't fair too much better. Both my fantasy teams pretty much destroyed my opponents last week. Hoping for similar events this time around. Anywho, here we go! Week 2 picks!
Seattle @ Denver: Well, who saw Seattle coming out of nowhere to beat down the niners? That was pretty much a shock. Can they recreate that performance against their old time division rivals from back in the day when they were still part of the AFC? They have a chance to win this game, because the Broncos really aren't very good. I do think that we begin to see how inconsistent Seattle will be this year and the Broncos will win their first of the season. But it will be questionable for a bit.
Pittsburgh @ Tennessee: An interesting game. How do you gauge how good Tennessee is after beating up Oakland? I mean, come on. Pittsburgh got a hard fought win against Atlanta, mostly because of their defense. Tennessee has a more explosive offense, with the best running back in the league right now back there. I think that they will manage to grind out this one against the Steelers. Give me Tennessee.
Baltimore @ Cincinnati: Another good matchup here. Last year Cinci managed to get both games from Baltimore. This is an either way one, for me. Baltimore's defense was as we always remember it against the Jets. Hard hitting, punishing, and stingy. But will they be able to do the same thing against a Cinci team with Chad Johnson and TO? Cinci's defense played very poorly against the Pats, and Baltimore's offense is greatly improved with the addition of Anquan Boldin. I believe I've talked myself into it. I think the Ravens will take the first one from the Bengals.
Philadelphia @ Detroit: Detroit came oh so close last week. They are much better than they were, and there are a lot of questions in Philly. Either way, I have trouble picking the Lions until they show that they are able to overcome adversity. So I'll go with the Eagles.
Arizona @ Atlanta: Tough game. Arizona continues to be underrated, and they are still working to find their stride with a new quarterback in Derrick Anderson. Tampa Bay @ Carolina: This particular division is always hard to pick because whoever is bad the previous year seems to get better the next year. Or, the teams that were good one year, are suddenly not so great the following year. Carolina, however, should still be better than Tampa. I'll take the Panthers in this one.

Some classless punk who just talks a whole bunch of trash, but really has only ever been known as a choke artist when it comes right down to it. Though I think the Chargers will be able to handle a not that great Jags team this week.
New England @ NY Jets: Could be a good one here. The Jets D is still very good, and the Pats are still quite old. Revis will be all over Moss, but the big question matchup wise with the Pats is always who is going to match up with Wes Welker. If the Jets can minimize the Welker factor, they will win. They also have shown that they know how to get pressure on Brady, and they will. I think the Jets pull this one out late.
Houston @ Washington: HUGE win for the Texans last week. They were finally able to get over the hump against the Colts. They've been so close and always managed to blow it. They have learned how to win, and what a performance by Arian Foster. I think the Texans will manage to squeak by while they are on their high!
NY Giants @ Indianapolis: The Manning Bowl! I know they didn't play very well last week, but Peyton is still Peyton. I think that the Colts bounce back from a disappointing loss to one a team they always own. Colts.

Why, Clinton Portis, Why!?
Early in the week, we heard a story about a female reporter, Ines Sainz, who said that she was made to feel very uncomfortable after receiving a few cat calls in the locker room while waiting to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez. The league has been looking into this, but we have managed to get to hear a very unique take on this event from well-known loud mouth moron Clinton Portis.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'll be the first to say that I have actually kind of enjoyed some of Clinton Portis's off the wall characters that he does to help amuse his teammates. That sort of thing can help other players on the team relax a little bit, maybe not worry about the focus of the media too much because they know that Portis will be more than happy to let people laugh at him for a bit. That, I enjoy. But Portis has gone well beyond what anybody can call a line of decency with the comments that he made about this Mexican television reporter. Just in case you don't want to click the link, here are the comments he made.
“For the woman, I think they make it so much that you can’t interact and you can’t be involved with athletes, you can’t talk to these guys, you can’t interact with these guys.
“And I mean, you put a woman and you give her a choice of 53 athletes, somebody got to be appealing to her. You know, somebody got to spark her interest, or she’s gonna want somebody. I don’t know what kind of woman won’t, if you get to go and look at 53 men’s packages."
There are really no words to describe this, so allow me to just go into a serious facepalm moment here. ARE YOU SERIOUS, PORTIS? I mean,how stupid can you be?! This guy really just doesn't think before he speaks, at all, does he? I mean, I think there must have been somebody on this guy after the ridiculous comments that he made defending Michael Vick and his dogfighting, but that person must have had the day off!
Ok, let's make this very clear. I am quite certain that most women can think of a much better way to spend the afternoon or evening than being in a locker room filled with gigantic naked men, many of whom have about the same IQ level as Clinton Portis. In addition, contrary to what our genius friend Portis has to say, I'm quite certain that most women don't want to just sit around and stare at "53 men's packages" all day either. Third, after this type of comment, it just makes me really happy, since I have a daughter and all, knowing that many young men look up to this individual, and will probably behave the same sort of way. This is the type of mentality that breeds the concept of "if a woman doesn't want to get harassed, she should dress in a revealing way." Look, I'm not going to deny that this woman is attractive. But to connect the fact that she's attractive and a sports reporter to automatically wanting to hook up with some random football player is really pathetic. Honestly, this just makes it sound like Portis hasn't had any conjugal visits of late, and is a bit frustrated. Did I just type that?
My apologies, but this type of thing just makes me so mad.

Megatron's Non-TD
The NFL is never short for controversy. Ever. So, it isn't really a surprise that we're already talking about a call and the controversy that comes with it.
As people have seen, with about 20 seconds left in the game, Calvin Johnson caught what appeared to be a game winning touchdown. Now, I understand the rule. The concept that the ball can't touch the ground, even after it seems like you have control, because then it would be incomplete, I don't think that that can be the case in the endzone. How many times have we heard announcers say that once the ball crosses the plain of the goal, the play is over. The play is dead. So, why is that not the case when a guy goes up, catches the ball, has control, lands on both feet, and is then spun around, waits a couple of seconds, and then uses the ball to stand up. I mean, seriously, what happened to common sense here?
Then I'm listening to Bob Costas during the Sunday night game, saying that the league doesn't have a problem with that call and that rule. Now, I don't know about you, but that bothers me. If you can't call that play a touchdown, what else might be allowed. Maybe now you allow the fumble that happens when a guy is stretching over the goal line because the play hasn't reached its culmination. I don't know, but in pretty much everybody's book, that was a touchdown.

KGs Week 1 picks!
Well, things got off to a good start for me as the Saints beat the Vikes, so I'm 1-0 for the season. I'll take my undefeated record and go home! Just like that guy who wins the first hand of poker and says that he'll cash out now. Nah, just kidding. Here we go with the rest of my week 1 picks!
Denver @ Jacksonville: I have to say that I have no idea what the Broncos are going to be able to do this year. Jacksonville is in a rather pivotal season for their franchise as well. Jacksonville has made some decent defensive upgrades, but the Broncos offense may be a bit better by subtraction of a cancerous personality. Orton is playing great, but there is no running game to speak of for the Broncs. This season may very well be the beginning of the end of the boy king, depending on how the Broncos do. I think the team believes enough in Orton right now, that the Broncos manage to squeak by, but just barely.
Oakland @ Tennessee: Oakland has a better QB, but let's face it. We could put a golden retriever in the Raiders huddle and they would still be better than J. Russell, am I right? Titans win this one, no real issues.
Carolina @ NY Giants: Life after Jake Delhomme may be rough for the Panthers. They still have that dynamic running duo, and we are all going to have to see how the G-men bounce back from last year's disappointing season. I think they start strong at home and beat the Panthers.
Indianapolis @ Houston: NFL.com folks seem to think Houston may take this, but until Houston actually manages to hold one of those leads and not allow a miracle come back to the Colts time after time, I will always have to take the Colts over them. Manning just knows how to beat these guys.
Atlanta @ Pittsburgh: First off, I love the nickname that A-Mac has given to Big Ben. I'm going to steal it, it's happening. Without "She Said No" (see, how can you not love this?) the Steelers are not the same on offense. Atlanta is still a pretty darn good team, and they will take Pitt out in this one.
Miami @ Buffalo: Buffalo may win 2 games this year, this will not be one of them. Fins.
Detroit @ Chicago: Chicago is older, maybe a bit wiser in regards to pampers sponsor for life Jay Cutler. Detroit has a much better running back this year, and Stafford will continue to grow this year. We may see a rather respectable, but not playoff bound, Lions team this year. It'll be a close game, but I think Cutler will keep making a few more mistakes, and help the Lions on to a win.
Cincinnati @ New England: Cinci is a team on the rise, New England is a team getting older. That being said, they almost never lose at home early in the year. I'll take the Pats.
Cleveland @ Tampa Bay: **flush** Toilet bowl! I'm interested to see what Mike Holmgren is able to bring to the Browns as GM. He's a winner, and probably a hall of famer in the making as a coach, but can he turn around one of the worst franchises in recent history? He might be able to, but it will be a process. I'll take the better quarterback in this one, which is definitely Delhomme. Browns in a...who cares.
San Francisco @ Seattle: Seattle has fallen far, and San Fran is on the rise. Mike Singletary will probably be coach of the year this year, in my opinion, and they will start off a pretty strong season with a beat down of the Seahawks.
Green Bay @ Philly: Green Bay is primed for some good things this year. They will beat Philly.
Arizona @ St. Louis: St. Louis is very lucky to have a great running back to help the rookie sensation stay comfy. The Cards defense has been very underrated the last few years, and I think that they will be stout against what is still a very bad team. Even though good old Enos is now owning the Rams, the Cards will take this one.
Dallas @ Washington: This could be a hell of a game here. The skins are much improved, though we don't know if McNabb will play. The Cowboys always seem to be loaded with potential, but never really live up to it. McNabb will probably play, because he's a tough tough guy, and his experience pushes the Skins over their nemesis in week one. This division will probably come down to these two teams, in my opinion.

Week 1 NFL Picks
Its been a bit since I've written here but life gets in the way.
Thursday night game- I am taking the Saints in a thriller over Brett don't called me retired Favre. The Vikings (my team) have too many injuries at major positions and the Saints haven't changed much since their victory in the Super Bowl. The only real questions for them are can their LB core survive losing team leader Scott Fujita to free agency and is Reggie Bush's head actually in the game given his uncertainty surrounding his heisman trophy and USC's penalties. I think the Saints win 35-28.
Sunday Games
Dolphins at Bills- No Brainer, The Fins. Bills have no OL, no QB, No Defense.
Detroit Lions vs the Chicago Bears- Lions win. They have a lot of good things going for them including this year's defensive rookie of the year, Ndamukong Suh. They have Megatron catching passes still. Bears suck, Cutler needs pampers. Their Defense is just another year older and Julius Peppers might have lost a step.
Da Raidas at the Titans- Titans win but the Raiders might win 6-8 games this year considering they play in the AFC West and have an easy schedule. Titans are a borderline playoff team.
Bengals vs Patriots- Never bet against Bill Bellicheck at home. Tom brady is fully healed. White Wes Welker is looking awesome after his knee surgery. Bengals have too many personalities to contend with even though Palmer has some nice weapons. Both are playoff bound teams who probably will meet again in the 1st round.
Panthers at G-Men- Panthers lose but not by much. They have a twin headed monster in the running game and Matt Moore looked good last season after taking over for Jake Delhomme. Falcons at Steelers- The Dirty Birds are back and will win this one in a no contest. Pittsburgh can't play very well without She Said No on suspension. Dennis Dixon will be sacked at least 3 times and lose a fumble. Expect big game from Matty Ryan
Browns at Bucs- A stinker of a game. Who cares. These teams are the dredges of the league. I think the Bucs win only because they are younger. I feel sorry for Cleveland fans.
Broncos at Jags- Tim Tebow returns home and scores a TD. Broncos win the first of their 4 games against another 4 win team. Second stinker on the docket. Broncos could have been a contender but losing Elvis Dumerville, trading away a 2nd round pick, and drafting Tim Tebow just kills the mood.
Colts at Texans- Texans are a sexy pick to make the playoffs but unfortunately they will have to do that after starting the season 0-1. Peyton Manning has destroyed the Texans in every game he's played against them. I don't think that changes now. Peyton also will be on a quest to win ring number 2 which he probably will do.
49ers vs Seahawks- Pete Caroll can't save the Seahawks. 49ers have the toughest defense in the NFC and was the leading defensive team overall last year. 49ers might have Alex Smith but he's serviceable and don't forget Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl.
Packers at Eagles- Aaron Rodgers will compete for the MVP this season and will make Packers fans forget Mr Retired. Eagles fans will want Donovan McNabb back after Kevin Kolb and Ron Mexico screw up at QB for the 6-10 bound Igles.
Cardinals at Rams- the last stinker of the week. This game would have been good if Kurt Warner was still there. The Cards are headed for a 4 to 6 win season with Derek Crapfest Anderson at QB. Matt Leinart sucked so bad that he was cut. Rams Win on Stephen Jackson's carries though Bradford throws 2 INTs and gets sacked twice.
Cowboys at Redskins- Best game of the Week potential. Both teams hate each other. Both have Super Bowl aspirations. Redskins win in Shanahan's debut but a close game. Cowboys though will win the NFC east.
Jets at Ravens- Match up of predicted Division winners this season. Jets have Darrelle Revis and the Revis Island back. The Sanchize will have a tough game but they can pound on the ground. Ravens have some injuries on defense so the J E T S jets jets jets win it in a close match. This too has game of the week written on it.
Chargers at Chiefs- Chargers win. AFC West is a cakewalk for them this year. Chiefs will win 6-8 games though. Most of Bill Bellicheck's old staff is now at the Chiefs so they might turn Cassell into a 4000 passer. Unfortunately Philip Rivers is damn good even without V Jax and his holdout.
Thursday night game- I am taking the Saints in a thriller over Brett don't called me retired Favre. The Vikings (my team) have too many injuries at major positions and the Saints haven't changed much since their victory in the Super Bowl. The only real questions for them are can their LB core survive losing team leader Scott Fujita to free agency and is Reggie Bush's head actually in the game given his uncertainty surrounding his heisman trophy and USC's penalties. I think the Saints win 35-28.
Sunday Games
Dolphins at Bills- No Brainer, The Fins. Bills have no OL, no QB, No Defense.
Detroit Lions vs the Chicago Bears- Lions win. They have a lot of good things going for them including this year's defensive rookie of the year, Ndamukong Suh. They have Megatron catching passes still. Bears suck, Cutler needs pampers. Their Defense is just another year older and Julius Peppers might have lost a step.
Da Raidas at the Titans- Titans win but the Raiders might win 6-8 games this year considering they play in the AFC West and have an easy schedule. Titans are a borderline playoff team.
Bengals vs Patriots- Never bet against Bill Bellicheck at home. Tom brady is fully healed. White Wes Welker is looking awesome after his knee surgery. Bengals have too many personalities to contend with even though Palmer has some nice weapons. Both are playoff bound teams who probably will meet again in the 1st round.
Panthers at G-Men- Panthers lose but not by much. They have a twin headed monster in the running game and Matt Moore looked good last season after taking over for Jake Delhomme. First Game Picks
The new season is upon us, and we are going to be treated to a great game for the first game of the season! As has become tradition in the NFL, the defending Super Bowl champions get to play the first home game of the year the Thursday of opening week. I like this tradition, as it does one last special thing for the defending champs as they kick off their title defense. Kudos on whoever came up with that idea.
Now, this will be a special game as it is a rematch of the NFC title game that was a huge thrill last year. The Minnesota Vikings @ the New Orleans Saints. Everybody should be all hyped up for this one.
Brett Favre has said, even when he "hadn't figured out if he was coming back or not", that he would love to beat the Saints on opening day. I'm sure he'll be ready to play, as will most of the team. You know the Saints will be ready to go, and the Who Dat nation will be absolutely wild and crazy! As far as this one is concerned, I see the Saints opening up and defending their home turf. We know how Favre tends to give the ball away in these big situations at times, because he just wants to make a play too badly, and AP's hands probably haven't gotten any better since his disastrous fumble-thon in the NFC title game. I like the Saints.
I'll get moving on the rest of the games probably on Friday, maybe Saturday, and I hope that A-Mac follows my lead so that we can have a friendly little competition as we go through the season. I'll be pretty hard to beat, especially if I do as well as I did last year! Here's to a great season!

Fantasy Football!!
I'm excited to say that I am, once again, involved in a fantasy football league! A-Mac is our league commish, and always does a great job getting people together, and the leagues are always fun. Well, minus that one dude in our fantasy hockey league last year.
So, in the interest of full sports disclosure, I would like to share with you my fantasy team from both leagues that I'm in. I'm in one on Yahoo and one on Facebook. So, without further ado, here we go!
Yahoo team. (2 RB, 2 Rec, 2 w/r league)
QBs: Aaron Rodgers and Eli Manning. Two guys that have some serious good. Rodgers was a stud last year, and I think will only be better this year. He'll probably be playing most of my weeks, except for when Eli has a fairly simple opponent. Cuz we all know how well he can play!
RBs: Steven Jackson (StL), Brandon Jacobs(NYG), Tim Hightower(Ariz), Mike Bell (Phi). St. Louis, you ask? Yes, St. Louis. Steven Jackson WAS the Rams offense last year. A horrible team, yet he still rushed for over 1400 yards. He's a great RB, and with a rookie QB, he will be getting his 30 carries a game to help keep Bradford comfortable. Jacobs is also good for goal line situations and can get me some TDs, so I'm good with that. Hightower and Bell are guys who don't get a lot of action, but are good receiving running backs.
WRs: Anquan Boldin (Bal), Pierre Garcon (Ind), Robert Meachem (NO), Eddie Royal (Den).
I managed to steal Boldin, and I think he will be huge this year. Flacco played so well last year, and really helped bring a passing game to the traditionally heavy run and rely on your defense Ravens. He definitely has added a new dimension to that team, and now with a legit big time receiver like Boldin, this could be a dangerous passing offense. Garcon just doesn't draw people's focus, didn't last year, but he has great games. I think that Peyton Manning will end up loving this guy even more this year. Meachem is a beneficiary of Drew Brees who throws to all of his receivers. Eddie Royal was largely forgotten in Denver last year, but I'm optimistic that with Marshall gone, Royal will have a lot more action this year. At least I hope so.

Yeah, I will be playing Witten every week, needless to say.
K: Rob Bironas (Ten), Ryan Succop (KC)
Brought Succop in so I have someone I may be able to drop if I want to make a move. Bironas is my man here.
DEF: NY Jets, Ariz Cardinals.
Pretty much a no brainer here, though the Cards may get the start week one since they are playing the lowly Rams.
FB Team (2 RB, 3 receiver league)

I seem to always get Peyton Manning in these FB leagues.
RB - Ronnie Brown (MIA), DeAngelo Williams (Car), Jahvid Best (DET)
I'm quite happy with these guys.
WR - Brandon Marshall (MIA), Santana Moss (WAS), Marques Colston (NO), Pierre Garcon (IND).
I feel that I'm pretty loaded in this league with receivers. Marshall will get his 100 receptions, that is pretty much for sure. Moss will totally benefit from having McNabb on his time. Colston is probably the best of a great group of receivers in NO, and Garcon, well, see above.
TE - Dallas Clark (IND)
No need for anybody else.
K - Mason Crosby.
Good kicker on a good team.
Def - Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings.
Again, one of the top D's and the Cards. Thinking the Cards will have a good week one against a really bad Rams team.
